Yikes! Why haven't you had it replaced yet? No crashes here w/ stock or DSTE batteries (which do show remaining battery life, btw).

It seems to be not an uncommon experience if you read some reviews, yes running latest firmware.

According to the Wasabi battery image on Amazon, the voltage is 7.6V - which is the same as the OEM Olympus BLN-1 battery.

Amazon.com: Wasabi Power Battery and Charger Kit for Olympus BLN-1, BCN-1 and Olympus OM-D EM-5: Camera & Photo
The Olympus charger outputs 8.7 volts and the Olympus battery out of the Olympus charger starts at 8.7 volts. Maybe I should say some of the 3rd party chargers output 8.4 volts. I can't see the output on the Amazon page. See post #48 on this page:

OMD EM5 spare battery (where to get it?) - Page 3

The measured capacity of the 3rd party battery in this link is about 20% less than the Olympus battery. But, with three batteries, who cares.

The wasabi charger works on both. I've used this brand on many cameras without issue. I won't waste time with drain tests, but I haven't noticed any difference between the wasabi and OEM in runtime either.

Olympus is stating that they will start shipping the BLN-1 battery by the middle of this month as well as getting caught up on all preorders by the end of this month. Is anyone else aware of this? I was on the Olympus site and they were indicating that my two batteries on preorder would be in my hands maybe by June 30th. I hope that they are good at their word.

i received my kit this past weekend and charged both batteries. i also successfully charged my olympus battery. i just got the warning on low battery so it appears the om5 can read the battery level.

Got mine in, but the green light is on the charger all of the time. Batteries apparently came charged. I tried the OEM battery, but it too showed a green light, even though the factory charger started charging the battery when I put it in there.

I don't know yet if the green light means a defective charger or if the batteries had enough power not to start the charging process and turn the green light off. I've put one of the Wasabi batteries in the OM-D and will run it down, then place in the charger to see what's up with that. The Wasabi battery shows up in the camera as fully charged, and seems to power the beastie just fine.

I was pleased that the car adapter was included - very handy and something I don't have with my Nikon gear.

Camera is working fine, but the FL-300 flash arrived defective and the Wasabi charger may also be defective.

Just not my week.

(Did I mention our refrigerator broke this morning? ).

Anybody know if the Wasabi charger can handle the E-PL1 batteries without damaging them?

Jim

Yeah I'm holding out for the factory battery. Not interested in ANYTHING 3rd party thank you. I was told by my reliable dealer my 2 extra batteries should be in within a month. Like he said if it shows up at my door in a week or two I'll be thrilled
