I know it's odd as that 17mm silver lens has been panned by just about every reviewer I've ever seen. I had one briefly before I got out of Mft at one point. But it always did a fine job for me. Particularly on landscapes. The reviewers seem to have complaints about soft corners and excessive CA. I found stopping it down to at least f8 does the trick however. If one is buying it to be a fast lens at f2.8 they might be unhappy if expecting anything sharp outside of the center. I've seen it on special before so when it's closer to $240 it's not a bad buy. The Panasonic 14mm f2.5 at around $270 is a great buy however by comparison. Here's a sample of what I got out of the 17 when I had one.
