@DJ - That's quite a nice "starter" set of primes that you already got -- pretty much the three best performing m4/3 lenses.

@trondkj and maflynn - Welcome to the forum as well!

Default E-M5

Got mine on April 25, Just in time for a ten day Rod Planck photography tour in Capital Reef and Grand Staircase National Monument. All the other particpants but one carried over 40 lbs of Nikon gear. My E-M5 with a lense range of 24 to 600 mm weighed in at less than 4 lbs. The experience was beyond belief, the E-M5 was amazing especially when compared to others with more than $20,000 worth of equipment on their backs. I will try to post some photos later.
Thanked by Armanius.

OK, what is the exact detail to have the Fn2 use a Magnify option ..with legacy lenses.
It seems like, it works sometimes with 2 pushes (Normal), but, other times it takes a few presses to have it work.

Do I have to set up the SCP also a certain way for the Fn2 button? (Lower Right Corner of the SCP)

I just picked up a black body on Thursday and finally found the time to play with it this morning. Here's a few of my first impressions.

I'm coming from a Canon 60D so I too struggled initially with the small size and lack of a substantial grip. The camera feels slippery to me, it's the black body and it seems a little difficult to hold. I'll probably end up getting a grip. I also have a G3 and I do find that camera easier to hold, but it's more like a toy then this substantial little guy. The magnesium body makes a huge difference. The build quality of the EM-5 is far superior. It feels like a real camera. Small, but it has a very high quality feel.

The button layout seems cramped since I have big hands but I'm getting used to it quickly.

I also found the Olympus menus baffling, as I also did even more so with the Panasonic, but I think it's just because I've been shooting Canons for so long I have a much better understanding of their menu systems. To me the Canon menus are much more intuitive.

All in all I was a bit skeptical until I started shooting with the EM-5 and downloaded the first few hundred photos shot mostly with the Panasonic 20mm. The JPEG's at the default settings are beautiful, so much so that i didn't even bother to look at the RAW files. Very impressive. Even with the slow 20mm the focus was fast and super accurate. I'm really digging the output of this camera. Contrast and color are very nice and the indoor shots at iso1600 are very clean.

So even though my initial impression of the EM-5 was mixed, it does exactly what I want it to do, which is produce great images in a MUCH smaller package. Give me a week with this thing and I think I'm really going to love it. I'm anxious to get out with the 9-16 and the 45 and see how it goes.

One major nitpick: I wish it had a fully articulated screen, the tilting screen seems like kind of a lame compromise. My favorite part of an articulated screen is being able to turn the LCD screen inward to protect it when not in use.

Default OM-D E-M5 and PL25 lock up issue

Many apologies for cross-posting. This thread has become really long, so I ended up creating a new thread.. Adding a reference here for the benefit of other OM-D owners.

Two days with a new OM-D and a new PL25 and the PL25 has "locked up". Will not autofocus ... Not sure what is going on... There are also other reports of issues with the panasonic 20mm. Perhaps we should create a "OM-D issues thread" too ... :-(

OM-D and PL/25 lock up

Thank you very much. I'm looking forward to using it as my primary in an upcoming cross country project. Big Smile and no concerns :-)

Where's the 'shoot without lens' for E-M5?
I bought FD to m43 (RainbowImaging) from Amazon, mounted the adapter, LCD/EVF went dark. it seems like the locking hole is not deep enough and it thinks the lens is not mounted correctly.
Do you have this problem?
Is there a fix?

I have a feeling i have to return to Amazon.
Thanks -
