I think that's the way the mode dial is made, and is from the way it rises a little to lock in place. Mine does the same thing. It's not loose, but you can wobble it a little.

Its not really a big deal, I am just curious if anyone else has noticed this or if I have a problem.
Mine is the same, never noticed untill I read this.

Am I bothered....no.....I just use thumb and forefinger, then by instinct, I always have.

New to this site, and new m43 photographer. Sold my EOS 5D MkII recently and got my E-M5 last Thursday. As an old Olympus owner - I still have my OM-2n, and still use it, it feels somewhat familiar, but I am struggeling a bit getting used to its small size. May be not so strange, as I have been using Canons for more than a decade
Bought it with the 12-50mm kit zoom, an adapter for OM lenses is the next on the list.
Thanked by Armanius and 2ndLight.

Default Camera going back . . .

Haven't been able to revive the camera, which went dead after a day of shooting. Called Olympus today. They had no solution, so it's going back for replacement. They warned me that it might take a while to find a new one. Unhappy.

Thanks.. It doesn't bother me, only had concerns it was just my device and it was about to fall off. haha

Now that I know its common and part of the design, I can rest easy.

New member here with an OMD. I'm coming from the Nikon DSLR world and love this little baby. The menu structure is a bit odd, not used to layour, probably because I'm so used to Nikon's. The delivered menu was a waste and I had to find the full menu in PDF form on the disk.

Overall, I'm very happy with it though :)

Not sure if this has been shared here or not. But for anyone interested, I ran across this nifty mass of information on the EM5.

New to the board.... Did a move from a complete Nikon D700 system to the OM-D with some primes and am loving it. Especially the size of the new system in comparison!

Couple of pics of Nikon D700 w/ 24 1.4G and OM-D w/ 12 2.0

Thanked by Armanius.

Welcome to the forum DJ! Nice way to enter the m4/3 world and thanks for the pics! That D700 is still the high ISO champ though, although now along with the D4.

Which other primes did you get for the OMD, other than 12/2?

Thanks Armanius for the welcome! Yes I have enjoyed a few great years w/ D700 and its great low light abilities with a few 1.4's and my favorite Nikon 200/2. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with how well OM-D does with high ISO. I will miss a few of my large Nikon's but you can't beat the performance for a system so easy to carry anywhere (plus the prices make the wife happier).

So far I have picked up the Oly 12/2, PL 25/1.4, & the Oly 45/1.8.... I figured once I can order the 75/1.8 I will be pretty complete with lenses I need/want. I originally had E-510 to E-3 before the D700 so was always a fan of the Zuiko's.

I was thinking of picking up a Pancake but have been contemplating if I would use one with a focal length so close to what I just purchased. I did own a 24 & a 35 before though so still not sure.
Thanked by Armanius.
