Don't feel guilty, whenever a hot new camera comes out there is a wave of enthusiasm and more great new members join us. When we're in between announcements, things are a bit calmer and there is more photography sharing going on relative to the gear talk. The way I see it, all of it is good for the group.

I will chime in here... if all goes as planned, come Monday afternoon a black E-M5 will be in my hands. I like cool new gear and for this reason, I am eagerly awaiting its arrival, but in all honesty, the current bodies are serving me quite well, as is, and I'm relatively content with the status quo. I'm not expecting my photography to take an earth-shattering twist or anything with the new arrival. Remember folks, it's what we DO with the gear, not what the gear is!

Sammyboy... just what about my post are you so confident that I would alter?
I'm sure I'll appreciate having the E-M5, but I know that the strength of my images will be little changed. My images are the result of what I do and have relatively little dependency on which camera body I use (G3, GH2, E-M5... etc.). There are a couple of features I'll appreciate and it will be fun to use, no doubt, but the IQ won't be notably different than what I'm creating now with the G3. It will allow MUCH better high ISO performance than the E-PL3 gives me (or ANY previous Oly body has provided, for that matter) - thank GOD for that!
I see the E-M5 as a camera which finally brings Olympus up into a league populated only by the GH2.. the FIRST Olympus m4/3 body with a built in EVF - finally. The GH2 and E-M5 each have their own strengths and weaknesses compared to the other... and all in all, this is a great step forward for Olympus and I applaud it. I do look forward to working with the camera - it may well become my favorite m4/3 body, for the present time.
The E-M5 is a significant new body, for sure, but it's not going to make mediocre photographers suddenly become wonderful photographers... I mean, come on... let's get real. It has some wonderful new features. What more is there? Aside from just a bit too much hype?

Oh it's not about altering the quality of your work, it's about leading you down avenues you never ventured before.

I am stoked to try mine out on Monday (Tomorrow sometime). I can't travel to a location if it is delivered too late in the day. I will post a few images, like others will also.
About the Gradation...a Professioanl Photographer friend says to use OFF, as the default, as in mainly dark lighting where there is a lot shadow detail you want to keep, use that setting, and Visa Versa for preserving Highlight detail in High-Key subjects.. I will have "See for myself" though. I think that is different than the H/S bias offered by Fn2. Not sure....
