It would be inconceivable for the new e-p4/epl4 or whatever it will be to have anything other than a greatly improved sensor. Regardless of whatever other features it has for me it has to have a decent control like the thumb wheel on the E-P line. The thought of being forced to drive a camera purely via one of those horrid cheap flimsy dials on the back is too much to take, its the primary reason why I went for a discounted E-P2.

I only absolutely need 2 things in the next Pen. MUST HAVE: New sensor, and a dang C mode on the dial (actually, C1 and C2 modes). Struggled through the "my sets" today on a shoot. 10 Clicks to change mode! GET ME A C MODE!!! (sound of hair being pulled out)

I would also like a built-in EVF, but I only require the above two.
Thanked by crsnydertx.

10 clicks to change mode? Can't you access a Myset directly if you assign that to the Fn button?

Since the rumor is only two Pens, no longer three, I wonder if they'd add the thumb wheel to the EPL3? A new sensor and the thumb wheel would make an EPL4 awfully compelling, with that neat flip screen... What if they added a corner EVF, the thumb wheel, Fn2 button, and the EM5 sensor to the EPL4? Would that be great?

But I'll still only buy an EP3 - money talks, and brand new cameras are not in my budget.

My EPM1 doesn't have any buttons left, lol.

Even so, somehow my MySet 1, which was standard 4:3 color got overwritten by my B&W myset 2. Of course it was user error, but how did it happen? Frustrating.

2. 1/8000s shutter

3. Better DR (at least 1.5 steps)

4. 2 Stop High ISO performance - not a tweak but a significant gain in
performance.

5. Peaking type function to really make working with Manual lens much easier.

6. Thinner Body but without any surface mount protrusion.

7. Wireless trigger function + Screwed Shutter button

8. 3, 5 & 7 step bracketing option.

To keep as is:

- Classic Rangefinder Body Design of the EP2/EP3
- Fixed Touch Screen

Leave the following to a Formal PRO edition)

- Built in EVF (unless a Pro version comes to be - I don't want it to be a larger camera or lose the new built in flash just to accomodate a VF)
- Weather proofing unless it doesn't affect the size the camera (once again, leave that to a Pro model)
- Dual Cards
- More expensive & better battery
Olympus has ticked many boxes here hahaah
