Wow I was about to pull the trigger on the RRS grip and baseplate $120 but if doing it Internationally they want $68 for UPS worldwide shipping !!

Thats outrageous I have lenses and items shipped from the states to TH all the time and the Standard rate is not $68

If its going to cost $200 inc shipping I think im better off paying $270 for the original HLD-6 with free shipping from Hongkong

So has anyone tried the JLM Grip in a RRS Lever Release clamp?

Finally arrived, here's the black version.

That's a weird exposure..lis that a silver body, or a black body with the letters painted black?

Uh really? Yes black body, letters blacked out

I tried to wrap the top last because I knew the crease would be there. I made the crease alone the edges, there's a small bump on the edges but it's hardly noticeable. Any excess would be folded to the back side of the grip which you really wouldn't see.

i ship internationally, via usps flat rate priority mail. most countries from the US are less than $20. of course there is a bit more paperwork and you have to hand deliver to the PO agent. so I ask for $30 this also covers the paypal fee

I use an arca lever clamp and a RRS baseplate to set my dimensions. i also match-machine the end plate and baseplate so they fit to the same tolerance. this is trickier than it sounds, but I think i have it under control

FYI I ordered the JLM grip internationally and it arrived lovingly packed in about 2 weeks, no problems.
