Are you molding the grip yourself or outsourcing it ? Any chance of replicating the etched surface ?

If you're the first on the scene it just may become quite successful for you....I imagine that there are several custom made grips being designed and made as we speak. I doubt Olympus will hold the current $300 for too long and may even begin to offer a single piece option at some point as well.

I was going to brush this off until I saw this retains the battery door functionality. That would be huge for me as it's a big reason I don't buy the OEM grip. Can you confirm this, jlm?

absolutely! unrestricted door access was a prime design parameter.
