I bought the last one they had in stock. I bought in on a self-dare, figuring I'd return it.

BOY was I wrong.

I don't care much for the extra battery compartment/grip section, but the "landscape" portion is great, and will be a huge plus for longer-lens work. Highly recommended.

I bought a used one off a forum member here, and I am a big fan of it. The landscape grip is really nice. I think it is going to be my default setup. The camera feels really solid with the grip on.

And, to my surprise, ease of handling the camera is significantly improved (IMO) with very minimal extra bulk. Very favorable cost to benefit ratio.

I broke down and bought a grip yesterday...after finding that the 12-35 was a bit awkward.

I'm conflicted...the landscape grip is okay, but I find it most comfortable with both it and the portrait section attached. My tiny e-m5 has turned into a big dslr! Skinny, yes, but still bigger than I'd like.

Just got the grip today. I think I prefer the landscape grip on its own but the portrait grip is nice if you're shooting in portrait orientation. I don't notice the slight extra height to the camera with the landscape grip, but adding the portrait grip really makes the increase in height very noticeable visually. With one or both grips mounted the camera seems more solid to me.

For some reason I also find my wrist strap slightly less comfortable with the grip, though I can't figure out why. I wonder how the Oly hand strap works with the grip.

Overall three things stand out for me. First, the camera is more comfortable to hold with the grip, not that I found it uncomfortable without the grip. Second, I really like the position of the shutter button and smaller wheel at the top of the grip. Finally, while I've only taken a couple of shots so far, I think I can handhold slower shutter speeds with the 40-150 than I could previously.

I may be wrong, but I think the Oly handstrap only works if both grips are attached. Worth noting if you prefer only the landscape.

I think you may be right because there's a strap fitting on the bottom of the portrait grip.

Bit of a downer in some ways because as far as I can see from the attachment points, you could attach the hand grip to the side for landscape orientation use if you have the portrait grip attached, but then you can't use it if you're using the portrait grip with the camera in portrait orientation and there doesn't seem to be a way of attaching it for use when you are working in portrait orientation.

Must see if I can find the instructions for using the hand strap online.

Found the "manual" online.

Can only be used with the portrait grip mounted, and only with the camera in landscape orientation. A not overly useful option.

Agreed. Not worth the hassle.

I'm sure there are other handstraps that would work. Maybe take your camera w/grip into a local camera shop and see what works.

Somehow doubt there's be a different handstrap that worked in portrait orientation. The problem is attachment points. You've got the 2 on the camera's sides and the portrait grip adds one on the bottom at the right side. There really aren't 2 points ideally positioned for a handstrap to be used when shooting in portrait orientation with the portrait grip. You'd have to find not only a handstrap but some form of attachment device that you could add and the only place you could add that would be to use the tripod mount and that's going to change the shape and feel of the portrait grip.
