Any one know what IS means?

REPLACED IS UNIT. UPDATED FIRMWARE. TESTED AND CLEANED
IS usually refers to Image Stabilization - the whole mechanism around the sensor in the E-M5. Looks like you got a major tuneup, along with the new firmware!

Perhaps they're just routinely replacing the initial production IS units (i.e. unannounced recall) to bring them up to the current build standard. Do you have a low serial number camera?

Possibly I got mine on April 25, one of the early ones.

Just back from hols - Iceland, amazing place - and Olympus have confirmed that the warranty "repair" has been completed and the camera is on its way back to me.

Thankfully I had my second one with me for Iceland where it performed very well indeed.

I had some random dark/black areas coming into the top middle area of the frame while shooting video. I was sure it was a bad sensor, but all Olympus said they replaced was the IBIS unit... Time will tell if it's fixed!

Didnt have a firmware problem but I had to send in my OM-D for repair and looking at this thread got my hopes up with the quick turnaround time, although mine will take a bit longer since Im on the West coast.

Oh that might be the IS. I read that the IS on video does a little bit of cropping.

Anyways.... I got my camera back today. Should of been yesterday but purolater messed up. The camera was in japanese. luckily it wasn't too hard to switch back to english.
