WAY too big, long and heavy to be practical, no tripod mount, but seems to have a bit of a following.
Those Vivitar Series 1 lenses are very well regarded. Looks like a good find, although I agree it's not all that practical size-wise. If you did want to shoot with it I would recommend getting an adapter with a built-in tripod mount to avoid hanging all that weight off the camera.

My Goodwill never has any of those...they sell all their quality lenses online. Stupid efficiency!

Didn't know adapters with tripos mounts existed, thanks! Will look for one - this one's a Nikon mount. Should make this lens easier to use.

Picked up an 85/2 Minolta MD. Initial test shots have it pretty sharp even wide open. I got it as a cheap(er) alternative to the Oly 75/1.8. From the specs they are very similar in size and weight (including the Minolta/m43 adapter).

Plus it came with a hood

Thanked by dbuckle, kurtwist and spatulaboy.

1st pic is of an Asahi Super-Takumar 1:1.4/50mm that came on a Asahi Pentax Spotmatic that still works fine. This lens is really smooth and I think I'm going to love using it.

2nd pic is an Olympus OM-System Zuiko MC Auto-Zoom 1:3.6 f=35-70mm that I picked-up at a garage sale for almost nothing

3rd pic is a Vivitar 70-210mm 1:4.5-5.6 MC Auto Focus Zoom that came on a Nikon FG that I picked up at an estate sale and the camera also works fine. I'm still waiting on the adapter from China so I'm looking forward to seeing what it will do.

Thanked by dbuckle.

SMC Takumar 50mm f/1.4 with FOTGA M42 to M4/3 adapter. I got this lens through KEH. It was graded as EX+ and is virtually like new condition. The mechanical quality is very Zeiss-like.

Tele-Lentar 135mm f/2.8 with FOTGA M42 to M4/3. Got this lens through a forum member here. I very surprised at the quality on this lens for the price. I'm finding a lot of these older legacy lenses are of high quality and except for coatings and autofocus, they can easily match new and much more expensive lenses we have today.

Thanked by dbuckle, kurtwist and mperete.

Default Cosmicar 75mm f1.4 C mt

Soft at f1.4, nice and sharp by f2 Balances nicely on E PL1 - the location of the focus ring is very handy, but takes some getting used to
Thanked by dbuckle.

Here's a Canon 35mm f/2 adapted to my E-PM1 by an adapter with diaphragm. The problem is the adapter only goes up to f/2.8, but it has 14 blades though and clickless, ideal for video.

Too bad the lens got sold the day the adapter arrived. The samples really looked good.
