Taking the first shot, for example, the entire car (as well as the guy standing behind the car to the right) appears to be more or less in focus. I'm estimating that the camera was around 12 feet away from the car. At that distance a DOF calculator tells me that the DOF should be about 3 feet (with the PL25 @ f/1.4). Assuming the focal plane is at or near the front corner of the car, that guy in the background has to be at least 10-12 feet behind the focal plane.
I am curious as well. Was the shot was taken from 20ft+ away and cropped?

I have the same question. If cropped, that means the lens resolution is too outstanding.

the shots were using a tripod, I have a bunch shot with my Sony which were all hand held.

I to am surprised that DOF wasn't more shallow. It seems to me that the Oly 45mm is better in this regard. But, I am still learning how to get what I want out of this lens.

Now, my Sony A65 shots using a 35mm f/1.8 prime didn't get much background blur either at this event. I usually do with that setup, so I dunno what the deal was/is.

Those images are not cropped, as I always tend to frame/compose so I don't crop, when I do crop, I tend to do that on my more 'crop forgiving' Sony 24 megapixel SLT. If I crop any of my micro 4/3rds shots, it is basicly because the image might be crooked and I had to rotate, I then try to keep the image the same while barely cropping off the new background areas made due to the rotation.

As for the reflections, I do have polarizers to cut them down, however I tend to like reflections and try and get away with them whenever I can, as I think they can emphasize the shine and luster of a cars paint job. My shots will probably tend to have more reflections then others.

A friend of our just purchase that BRZ, that is a sweet looking ride and he loves it.....not the fastest thing, but what a looker.

I would never sell that 20mm for $135... you could easily get more here.

ahhh
yeah i saw the engine specs and was thrown... it LOOKS faster than the wrx sti(which we are also looking@), but its way less hp... even the non sti has more hp!

also in the runnings is a boss 302 mustang, a jeep GC SRT, and a rover evoque.

decisions, decisions!

and yeah, i had to force myself not to have my eyeballs fly out of their sockets and WHAM! him in the face when he said that. i was stunned.

i wanted to say "if you really sell [used]panny 20s for $225, then your losing out on about $100!"
lol

great car pics as usual btw!:)

So, I always look at littlemt posts, because I love the photography & the cars. But I'm not always at my computer, sometimes I used the mu43.com Android app on my phone. I have to say, looking at the car pix on the phone, this series wasn't very nice to look at. But on the computer, in full size, NICE! Just an aside. Thanks, Lucille.
