Olympus 14-150 vs 40-150 AF/IQ Question

For anyone who had/has used the 40-150 (I have the second, smaller version) with the adapter on any of the Olympus m4/3 cameras and has used/tried the 14-150: How does the AF of the older lens compare to the new m4/3 version?
How about IQ of the two lenses?

I have the EP2 (and just picked up the EPL1 that I am going to convert to IR) and have the adapter w/the 40-150, but seriously considering the 14-150.

Hi Steve,

the mZD 14-150 has fast CDAF... in the same ballpark as the Lumix 14-45.

IQ is excellent - on a par with the ZD 40-150.

Do you mean that the two lenses have very similar IQ, but that the the 14-150 focuses more quickly? I was hoping to see more comparisons between the two lenses as the 40-150 cost $100 effectively with the MMF-2 and the 14-150 costs $600.

Quite a difference!
Your $500 (assuming the 14-150 has good enough IQ) is there to allow you to NOT swap lenses as you currently need to for shorter than 40mm ... right?

$500.

You could employ some bloke to follow you around and swap your lenses for you instead ... granted, not for too long but ... just saying.

I agree, quite a difference. That is why I am wondering if there is not much discernible difference in performance. I have read that the 14-150 is quite sharp, but haven't really read or seen that it is better than the two lens combo. Just mostly curious.

I have both the 40-150 (version 2) and the adapter and recently got the 14-150.
#1 - the m4/3 lens focuses close to the speed of the m4/3 9-18, which is the fastest of the Olympus m4/3 lenses (have/had all of them). The only Pana m4/3 lens I have is the 20mm, which is no speed demon to begin with so I can't compare to the Pana lenses. And it is significantly faster than the 40-150 (even the newer CDAF version) at AF.
#2 - IQ - while I have not done any direct comparisons yet - seems equal to the 40-150. And considering that the new lens is much wider on the wide end, that is a nice advantage to the 14-150. And it is lighter/smaller than the 40-150 with the adapter.
