Received it from Amazon yesterday and its in its box to go back, had a wee shot with it and right now its just not work 5x the price of the 14mm I already have to be honest.

So will be going back, seems a nice enough lens but I'll be looking at the 7-14mm again I think, or perhaps even the Samyang 7.5

I've been looking at these. Had been thinking I'd go for the 9-18 as covering a more generally useful focal length range. Then I thought if I'm going to go wide I might as well go wide. Interested to hear more of your thoughts on these two lenses.

It's a fixed f/4.0 all the way through the zoom range. Having a fixed maximum aperture is one of the reasons the lens is pretty pricey.
Thanked by zap.

f4.0 constant aperture.

I got mine for £675 through Flash Camera (Kerso), Amazon currently have them for £799 (+£50 Panasonic cash back) but typically they retail for £999

I picked up a second hand one for $862.00 AUD. Picture quality is brilliant.

I really do love the lens, and it spends a fair amount of time around the 12-14 mark. I like wide a lot, and ultrawide quite a lot. Right now it's probably my most used piece of glass, but likely to be replaced in terms of popularity by a 12-35 eventually. I got a heck of a deal on an as-new used lens for 725 euros. Zero regrets.

A common misconception.

Both lenses with hood fitted.

7-14
69mm dia hood x 83mm long, zooming and focusing are both done within this envelope.

14-45
@ 14mm....75mm dia hood x 100mm long.
@ 45mm....75mm dia hood x 128mm long.

See, it's quite 'tiny' really......AND it's fabulous.

Really good price for the 7-14 considering ordering from Kerso myself,

I meant I used to have the Zuiko 4/3 7-14 (not m4/3) and it is BIG, the m4/3 lens is much smaller.
