Thats an awesome review in between those two lenses! Now i would like to see that panasonic beast to perform with the canon. But since those lenses are quite special lenses, im wondering if its worth the extra money to get the pana on top of the canon considering the pana would be mounted on my omd versus the canon on a ff canon for landscape use?

Hope Gary is still reading this thread and could do some comparison in between the canon and Panasonic!?

What is interesting is just how well the E-M5/7-14 does in comparison.

Provides 50MP upsampled images from each combination. RAW files from the OP are available in the thread as well.

FWIW, I've got the 7-14. It is the lens that made me both enter and stick with m43 coming from Canon land. It is one of the better UWA lenses in any system. On Olympus bodies there is residual CA. Shoot RAW, remove CA in LR or ACR and it isn't a problem at all. You can even setup an automatic import preset to do it for you.

Thats a pretty awesome review thanks for pointing it out! That was exactly what i was looking for. Eventhough the pana looks like an spectacular lens across platforms, and being the OMD one of the best "small" cameras out there now, it does shows its limitations in situations like this when compared to a FF camera. But already said before, this are twp different formats with different usage and for me they complement each other.

2mm does make a ifference......oly-fov3-1.jpg

If you want Ultra WA it has to be the 7-14mm

Can I ask are there any issues with the 7-14 on an Olympus body like we've seen with some other Panny lenses i.e the clicking?

CAs may be an issue to some. I consider CAs more of an issue than audible aperture blades, since you have to find & correct the purple fringing in LR...

Hey Chris, I'll try to have something by Friday. I just got the Canon back from the tune-up man (he re-aligned the lenses).

That sounds great, friday it is then!

On the other hand, whats your experience with re aligning lenses, i remember my best friend had to fix his 28/300 f2.8 and after the re alignment the lens was never as good as in the beginning.

You guys know if there is any sort of "valid" rumor about an updated UWA lens for m43?. basically what im trying to say here is, is it possible to get a pana or oly f2.8 UWA lens, like canon's 16-35 f2.8 LII lens?
