I've got a lot of pictures from that series as well as the "husband, you're taking too long, I've got things to do" series. Thank goodness for autofocus. My wife really starts to lose it when I'm trying to align a rangefinder patch
Thanked by htc.

That color image of your daughter, HTC, strikes right to the look I've loved to create with portraits using FF gear. Very, very nice DOF and super crisp IQ as well. I won't be able to resist the allure of this lens. And thereafter, my 45/1.8 may never be used again.
Thanked by htc.

I'm not usually known for especially acute hearing, but I'm pretty sure I just heard the sound of Don's wallet opening all the way across the country
Thanked by Amin Sabet and DHart.

htc,
The rendering is crisp, colors are exceptional, and the subject isolation is superb. How far were you from the young woman when you captured her image?

Jay... you have AMAZING hearing!

HTC... would it be too much to ask to see a portrait of her in same or similar spot, at f/1.8, including upper half of body with landscape in the background? That's the typical framing of a portrait subject I like to use (waist up), which will increase your camera to subject distance... I'm very interested in knowing how the OOF background rendering will be with that increased camera to subject distance. Tell her it's all in the name of art! Many thanks, in advance!

I know the OOF rendering and very shallow DOF is a piece of cake with a tight head shot (close camera to subject distance) using this lens... a tougher test for me is to see what the OOC rendering of the BG will look like with increased camera to subject distance.
Thanked by Christilou and jloden.

Personally, I was thinking the same. What on earth do I need that 45mm for anymore? And it's plastic and all... ;-)

What I also believe I know is that you all are going to loose this battle. Selling the 45mm doesn't help you a bit to finance this, SO pretty soon you all are going to be in the same situation as I, collecting unpaid bills as a hobby

I would imagine that the distance where around 3 meters (10 feet).

It's not too much to ask DHart, my pleasure. I just have to use extortion and forcing to get her in the park again but on the other hand thats what I usually do

Sometimes it works, sometimes not but I will do my best.

EDIT: In the mean time the next picture is about the same in distance wise. It was easier to go to the yard. But I'm still working on my original assignment.
