thanks for all the comments, this is making me more and more certain of what I suspected I wanted, the 20mm and nothing else. Back to basics :)

The above post is the reason I'm going to pull the trigger and go buy the 20mm ;) I shoot an Xsi with a 50 1.4.

I now have the Pana 20mm/1.7 as well as the Oly 9-18 and 14-150.

So far, the pics I made with the Pana do not look any sharper than the ones I made with the other lenses. I wonder if something is maybe wrong with my pana lens, or were my expectations (significant difference in sharpness) just too high?

You could always post some pics so we could all take a look.

Well I've only just gotten the camera, pana 20 1.7 and oly 17 2.8 but the panasonic is considerably sharper imo. It may even be sharper at 1.7 than the oly is at 2.8 but I haven't had much time to compare.
