Default can I go on holiday without my P20?

I'm off to Spain next week for 4 nights. It's a budget airline job and space in the rather small suitcase is at a preimum so I'm thinking of taking the GF1 with the Oly45mm for protrait shots of the gf and then just the brand new P14 for scenics. Will I regret not taking the P20?

I guess it's not that large or heavy! ;-)

Thanks,

DM

Pocket the 14mm, and have the 20mm take its place in your bag.

Yes - in my opinion, the P20 is my first choice, then the 45, and then think about bringing the P14. I'll take the P20's indoor/low light capability over the 6mm diff. I can always step back, but I can't make the P14 faster.

I know nothing about your shooting style or you for that matter, so it's hard to predict if you will regret it. The words "brand new P14" trigger me to respond anyway. I deduct from these that you've bought the P14 very recently. In your case I'd leave the 14mm at home and take the 20mm if you feel you have to choose between the two. Almost invariably I have had bad experiences using photo gear for a real outing that I didn't know well enough. Reasons: the thing was just defective or it appeared I didn't know yet how to get satisfying results from it. The latter category included things like not being used to the new angle-of-view, not knowing when a lens would become unsharp in the corners, not knowing that architecture shots would be spoilt by distortion etc. etc.

Seriously if you cant fit the 20/1.7 you need to reevaluate your packing ability LOL

I would personally be more likely to take the 20mm/1.7 and 45mm/1.8 as a pair over the 14mm/2.5 and 45mm/1.8 as I like fast lenses and not overly wide ones, but it all depends on your shooting style. The 14mm and 45mm will work too.

look daddy-o, you take both the 14mm and 20mm, don't pack underwear so you have more room, the lenses are more important.
Thanked by Loksi and LowTEC.
