Hi everyone, my working view is equivalent to 28 mm. Looks like there's no native MFT 28 mm yet. What would be my choice if I want a 28/2 or even 28/1.4? Thanks!

Nikon has made a 28/2, available since ~1970. A lot are around. It is not a small lens, about the same size as an 85mm telephoto. Mine was $100, "good user" meaning cosmetically ugly. Konica made a 28/1.8 that is terrific, but uncommon and more expensive. 28/1.4's are around, and run a good bit, ~$500 or up.

Only lens I can think of is Oly 14-35/2.0. Nothing else will give you close to those specs, and certainly not a prime. Unfortunately, it's very expensive, but has a lot of positive reviews...though it is far from small.

How narrow are you willing to go? And how much willing to lose in aperture?

edit: sorry are you saying you want the equivalent to 28mm in a 35mm system, or 28 uFT?

but does the OP mean 28mm on m4/3 or 35mm ? if the latter then he's looking for a 14mm f/1.4 which might be expensive ...

Either way a good 1.4 28mm would set you back a good part of your life's savings or even all of it in the worst case even if you owned a well kept mansion.

Loads of Nikon stuff and an Oly E-PM1 and 14, 45 lenses

For a fast, wide-angle, cheap price- I'm using a C-Mount lens. It vignettes at the corners. I've read threads on GETDPI.COM where two members disassembled the C-Mount lens and moved the front section in closer to the rear module to reduce vignetting. I have not done that, might take a look at the Kowa 12.5mm F1.4 lens that I have.

@ x2h: I have a vivitar 28mm f2. I picked it up on ebay for $25. It is prone to flare so for outdoors a hood is a must. It is also not very sharp at f2 but definitely usable. f4 and up yield some very nice images. IMO nice bokeh. good for the price. -eb

thanks for all the enthusiastic replies in such a short period of time! makes me feel like home right away. sorry i was a little vague, but i meant 28 mm equivalent to 135, which means 14 mm on MFT. I know there are 28 mm lens under 135 but they are too big for the purpose of using my GF1. i am wondering if there's a 14mm/2 lens for MFT. thanks for any input!

There is always the OM 28mm f2, it ain't cheap, but it's pretty!
