Those of you reading this who DO expect perfection in used gear when it is posted as like new... keep doing so!! It is your demanding nature that keeps grading fair.

I buy and sell watches and cameras. MANY, MANY times I've BOUGHT items listed as like new, and they were delivered exactly as such (and I am proudly picky.). All I expect is for you to be specific about the condition up front, and then deliver what you say.

Specific.

Specific!

Not your opinion, SPECIFIC details (with photos). If you see marks, say so. Details aren't opinions, marks aren't magically gone because you want to not mention them. I've also bought many items with those specifics mentioned because the price was attractive considering the description. I like a bargain as much as the next guy, but only when I decide the price/condition is satisfactory for me to spend my money. Someone who posts something as like new, should expect scrutiny. "Nearly new" may be fine, but SHOW why. Even if you'd buy it as like new, don't assume your lack of attention to detail is common. All of this is MUCH easier to do from the beginning, and you earn a good reputation for selling great stuff at a reasonable price. It is hard to go back and rebuild that once you've burned someone.

I'm nearing 1000 positive feedbacks at 100% on ebay. Mostly watches and cameras. I didn't get that by trying to squeeze a few extra dollars out of a sale of something I listed as like new when it wasn't.

I don't assume that folks who say they want "perfect" will be satisfied with that 10 second inspection.
What's funny (strange?) is that as long as an item isn't listed as "like new" or "mint" I give the seller some wiggle room. Missed a nick on the camera that could have been stated in the ad? No problem if it's not serious and still within the spirit of the ad. You know maybe that's it--"like new" and "mint" are very high standards with no wiggle room, and as such should be used with extreme caution. When something is sold that way it deserves to command a premium over other used gear, so I find it disingenuous when people misuse the terms for their own profit.

Btw, I don't expect perfection from used gear unless the seller represents it as being perfect, e.g. "like new" or "mint". Having reasonable expectations benefits everybody and makes for less heartburn.

You have two different arguments going on here, first a buyer should expect a used item to be used, very true, but everybody has different expectations for what used should look like, for me a camera with a highly scratched bottom could be signs of someone who did not treat there camera with care, if that is true it should reflect in the price. Second point the price of high sought after new item when it is sold used. One is certainly allowed to set whatever price one wants, just as someone can pay whatever they want, but in a realistic market, there is no way I would pay someone anything close to retail for camera that has been owned by two people already. I have bought two OM-Ds already one came last month the other almost 2 months ago, they are around and showing up with more regularity.
Finally I do not get the anger in your post, an angry seller is never a good sales technique

I realize I'm flogging a dead pony here, but I completely agree with Bob and others who've pointed out that the angry tone of the ad in question (as well as this rant), have completely turned me off - not only from this listing but from any future listings I come across from this seller.

It appears that the OP was able to sell his OM-D and realize a price that was actually higher than the price at which he posted it here. Congratulations, but I hope that this rant and angry listing was worth the ill will it has engendered.
