Description
The Achieva Shimian is a Korean 27" monitor with Quad HD (2560x1440) resolution. It uses the same LG-made, in plane switching (IPS), panel used in the Apple Cinema and high-end Dell 27" monitors. Those monitors cost $700-$1000.

What is the catch? This monitor only has a Dual DVI (D-DVI) input. There is no HDMI input, VGA input, etc. So you must have a video card capable of D-DVI output - this is not a big deal as most NVidia and ATI cards in the last 2 years support D-DVI, and these cards are readily available for $15-25 (after rebate). In addition, there are no on-screen adjustments for contrast, etc. Instead, you use the video card's control panel to make those adjustments (usually you just set them once when you calibrate).

This particular monitor has zero dead pixels. It has barely been used. Comes with a D-DVI cable for connection to a video card and a 110 volt power supply as well as the original box.

Still for sale - no dead pixels (I'll post pics) - selling as I got a great deal on an even bigger monitor through a friend who works at Dell. The monitor is in excellent condition - very little use.
