It's part of the Can/Am (Canadian/American) tour. Folks who play receive a custom designed, full color disc in their player pack. This year's disc features a photo that I took during last years' tournament. It's the Ashtabula, Ohio lighthouse which is visible from many parts of the course. A local photographer, who is also our club president, cropped and edited the image. Here's the original:

He was amazed that this was taken from one of the farthest points on the course from the lighthouse with the Panasonic 100-300. He was considerably impressed with both the lens and the camera - an E-PL2 (He's a Canon shooter). Had great seats about 8 rows behind the Brewers' dugout. Sadly, as a Milwaukee fan, the Cardinals scored early and often on their way to an easy win. Still, it was a beautiful day, and had a great time with my family.

All hand held with reasonably low shutter speeds (for my shaky hands) @ ISO400.

In the past, I've rarely used this combination of camera and lens (for no particular reason) and have recently started using it a little more than usual.

Apart from noticeable purple fringing, particularly in the corners / edges, that seemed easy enough to correct, I've found some new love and respect for this tiny lens. I can't wait to try the Oly 12mm, though have put it off recently in favor of alternative purchases. I think it's back on my list.

I used it, along with the Oly 45mm 1.8 (still love this lens!) and the 12-50 for my daughter's Junior Prom over the weekend.

All were shot in RAW, and processed in LR4 and were shot with the EM5. I would appreciate any feedback and suggestions.

Untitled]]> I went out on a hike yesterday evening and decided to bring the OMD along being that its weather sealed, I thought it would be perfect. Then I thought, why not bring along the cheapo kit lens? :smile: I had my 4 month old strapped to my back and the EM5 on my front. I really couldn't take too much time on each shot because my daughter would literally scream whenever I stopped and took a pic :confused:. I was impressed with the "SOOC" raw shots produced by the EM5, eventually I'll edit them in Lightroom for now Snapseed for iPad will do.

]]> Nature Lobbamobba http://www.mu-43.com/f54/beaver-walks-during-lens-test-46570/ Laycock Abbey http://www.mu-43.com/f56/laycock-abbey-46568/ Tue, 21 May 2013 13:33:14 GMT A weekend visit to Laycock Abbey was an interesting excursion, especially as it was once owned by William Henry Fox Talbot, the inventor of the "Calotype" photography process and the first person to produce a photographic negative. The oldest negative in existence is of an Oriel window at Laycock Abbey. This is my image of that exact window at Laycock:

Shot some of the raging rivers as the snow melt was still in progress..

I really like the first shot, but keep second guessing the exposure, contrast, white balance, etc in Lightroom. Love to hear any feedback.
