using the E-P1 after a long time

Posted December 15th, 2010 at 10:11 PM by sebastel

for my recent vacation trip, i did not want to use a film based camera. too many airports. too many security checks with x-ray.
also, for carrying around, m4/3 are the best choice, so my E-P1 went with me.

lenses:
my favourite, the snapshot skopar 25mm - this time hardly used.
most of the time, i left the wide heliar 15mm (with LTM-to-M adapter on the RJ camera m4/3 adapter) on the camera.

again with the 15mm, there are some shots where i found...

if someone is curious ..

.. about what i am doing nowadays, here is some information.
i did not discard the E-P1, but it is rarely used - in favour of a used leica M4-P that i recently found in a local online shop.

of course, the film processing is a little bit more time consuming, and taking into account my personal laziness, it should not come as a surprize that i only now updated my private homepage with some content.

here it is:

dumplings.

Posted April 11th, 2010 at 07:49 AM by sebastel
Updated April 13th, 2010 at 02:23 AM by sebastel (additional information)

one of the nicest chinese additions to the world of cooking are the so called dumplings. they come in many shapes, depending on the filling and the dough they are made of, and in many ways of preparation (cooked, steamed, fried, deep fried, in soup, with and without sauce etc.). the most basic version contains pork meat and spring onion, which is then wrapped in plain noodle dough. this is called "jiao zi" 饺子, and they remind a bit of italian style filled noodle like ravioli, or tortelloni....

art exhibition

i love the shanghai art museum.
not only is it nicely located and a beautiful building, but so far i never left it without being impressed, inspired and motivated. this time, the attraction was an exhibition of some of the work of marc riboud.
and i found, that beholding the beholders was almost as interesting.

... spring arrives.
finally also my move is about to be finished - the computer is up and running, and only minor adjustments to the daily life are still due.
as a result, i was able to review some of the photos i took recently.
in order to celebrate the end of winter, here are three pictures i took during lunch break, at a little pond nearby the office building.

Posted March 1st, 2010 at 06:43 AM by sebastel

as mentioned already somewhere else, i am currently in the process of a rather big move, and unfortunately it got even more time consuming than i expected.
but - hooray - the biggest part of the work is done, so i hope to return to a more productive schedule soon.
