Where did the day go? Where did the light go?
Anyhoo, here's one for people to not like the crop, the short foreground and the disproportionate amount of sky ... I, however, mostly like it ... it looks proper viewed full size on a big screen ... except for the corner distortion, which probably serves me right for sticking a Panasonic lens on an Olympus body ...

EP-2, Lumix 14-45mm; 1/250s, f/6.3, 14mm, ISO200
tiny tweaks to contrast, gamma, lightness, saturation and brightness until I thought it looked ok

It does indeed look okay. Lots of detail in the sky, nice colours and the shadowy outline and the bottom of the picture. The only thing that I might have done would be to straighten the bottom a little. Of course it might well be that the house is on a slope!

Ah good, glad you like it ... ithank you ... it's already straightened a bit, but to do a significant amount more would have meant losing about a quarter of the whole image!
I probably need to use a more sophisticated tool than OV2 for that sort of work, but Adobe's products are a ridiculous price ...

That is a beautiful sky you have captured. I'm hoping that blue sky is heading my way. Got my first full weekend off in what seems like months! It's not really months but it feels like it. I like the house and trees silhouetted on the bottom too.

There were some wonderful formations last night and I tried to capture a lot of them .. it was the three bright streaks that make it work (otherwise it's just some pretty smeary cirrus really!)
