Update...

Hi everyone, I take the occasion to say hello after a nice week of vacations and another very busy hacking week since coming back.
No pictures to show (yet), because I finally grew tired enough of my main software (digikam : http://www.digikam.org) b&w conversion tools to peek a good look at them.
Basically, the b&w right hand tool panel looks like this :
Flickr Photo Download: 0.10.0-editorplugins04
After a good week of tweaking, I made this :

At the moment, my efforts are only skin-deep, changing some standard widgets into others, but I'm learning a lot of the innards of the software in the process, and I intend to spend next week adding some filters, tools and knobs to the existing ones. I'll keep you updated on my efforts. I've no intentions nor abilities to turn it into a silver fx clone, but I've good hopes to really improve it.
Digikam is not lightroom, but it's certainly the best photography free software, and if the improvements I make turn out as I wish, I'll submit them to the dev team for a possible inclusion.
