Memorial #017

Posted April 12th, 2010 at 07:30 PM by Chris (The things I see.)

Had a few seconds to grab this shot while out of the office. Didn't even have time to see what the memorial is for! i love street art, but I find this name writing/tagging to be pointless and distructive. Unfortunately, the light was kind to this one....

I had to crop it down from this...

As you can see, there's...

Finally had some time to take it easy today. Went out to a hot rod show which was pretty sweet. Got heaps of shots, which I've put on my FLICKR , and I had a few night shots that I've put in the rejects thread (just for good measure )

All Hot Rod Shots are with a GF1 + Canon 50mm f1.8 FD

I might have to start my PAD again!!

Posted April 9th, 2010 at 01:34 AM by Chris (The things I see.)

I've been so tied up at work.... I've been taking pics, but have had no time at all to get on here and post my own pictures, let alone comment on others fantastic images. Here's what I've got from the last 2 days.... The sun is finally out, so I've been taking advantage..

A nice tree

And a passing jet

I've been away ...

Posted April 6th, 2010 at 06:55 PM by Chris (The things I see.)

So I've spent the last few days out of town on holiday, so sorry for the lack of PAD entries. Still have to go through alot of them, but here are a few from my first 3 days away...

We where lucky enough to get an amazing apartment on Princess Wharf in Auckland City to stay. We where over the water looking back towards the city.

And looking out across the harbour to Devenport, with Rangitoto Island...

Well I hate to say this, but this might be my last post for a few days... I'm heading away for a Fixed Gear Bike fest in Auckland, and I really don't know if I'll have access to any internets while I'm away. Needless to say, I'll be taking alot of photos. So I leave you all with todays PAD... The days are getting shorter!

This is fom out the front of my house, on the way to work.

Thanks again...

Something a bit different for me this morning. Last year, I helped a customer to get some small stainless parts laser cut, and at the time I asked him what they where for but he just grinned

Then a few months later, he sent me this!

Turns out he makes air guns. This is a mock up of the trigger assembly. The finished gun, shoots a half inch slug through a 3 inch phone book! With this...

The Groynes Lakes #006

About 10 minutes away from my house, is a great place to take your kids (anyone under 17) to try fishing. The local council, and the fishing and hunting authorities, maintain a system of small lakes and rivers, where they top up the lakes 4 times a year with 1-2 year old Salmon, and Rainbow Trout. It's free to fish here, you just have to be under 17. Of course, there's always some very enthusiastic fathers close at hand!

I'm stumped a to which picture I prefer, so advice...
