Posted April 4th, 2011 at 06:12 PM by Briar

I am experimenting with a demo of silver efex pro 2 and this is one of the pictures I dismissed from the other day ... kind of like it now.

Thanks for looking.

Here and There #9 - The Longniddry Bents

Posted March 30th, 2011 at 06:02 PM by Briar

Another sunny weekend has found me back on the John Muir Way, this time at the Longniddry Bents in East Lothian.

Didn't really feel inspired here with my e-p2 and 17mm oly lens, but enjoyed the day.

Thanks for looking.

Here and There #5 - The Slaughtered Trees

Posted March 5th, 2011 at 04:15 PM by Briar

This was once a forest of tall and majestic trees. Now the trees lie dead, piled high, row upon row, slaughtered for human consumption.

Captured with my e-p2 and 17mm lens.

Thanks for looking.

Here and There #4 - The Cat

Posted March 4th, 2011 at 03:30 PM by Briar

No idea what interested the cat so much ... he seemed to be staring intently at something, but nothing my eyes could see.

Captured with my LX5 ...

My E-P2 and 17mm lens were left redundant in my bag ... dopey me had forgotten to load the sdhc card before leaving the house! Had hoped to try some b/w shots to see how well it faired with me following pdh's comments the other day.

Thanks for looking.

Here and There #3 - The Butterfly

Posted March 3rd, 2011 at 03:08 PM by Briar

Haven't been taking photos for a little while, letting stress at work get the better of me ... but today I had some much needed time out photographing butterflies with my E-P2 and LX5. Didn't get any great pictures but found it therapeutic to be lost in my own wee world behind the camera trying to catch the butterflies.

From the E-P2 and pan 45mm macro lens:

and the LX5:

LX5 - Muiriston Woods

Posted January 9th, 2011 at 06:01 PM by Briar

I went for a walk in the snow at Muiriston Woods in Livingston yesterday with my Panasonic LX5. I really liked this picture, which is straight out of the camera. I haven't posted a picture in my blog for a while so I thought I would share.

My pens and my LX5 will be coming out to play next week as AT LAST I have some very much needed time off work, so hopefully will have something better to post then.

In the meantime, thanks for lookiing. Comments...

Day 90 - Hopetoun House

Posted November 16th, 2010 at 01:36 PM by Briar

Well, behind the cyberman there is a picture of Hopetoun House originally taken with my e-pl1 and 14-42mm oly kit lens using the grainy art filter during the summer. The final image was taken yesterday with my e-p2 and panny 20mm lens, converted to black and white and enlarged grainy filter added PP. Not sure it works (needs a little pp resus I think) but the best of yesterday's pics (didn't taken many as head was stuck in books).

Day 89 - Scottish Mining Museum

Posted November 14th, 2010 at 04:19 PM by Briar

Went to the Scottish Mining Museum at Newtongrange today and chose two pictures for PAD.

The first is one of the life-size model displays within the museum. I liked the way the e-p2 and panny 20mm lens captured it, almost like a painting.

The second picture is one of the minature model displays ...

it just made me smile!

Thanks for looking. Comments and criticisms most welcome.

Cheers,...
