I sometimes wonder whether I should add a title to all of my images? Don (streetshooter) said something about a couple of entries to a recent competition, which made sense to me... he suggested that a title could divert the viewer's imagination away from seeing more in an image.

I'm inclined to agree with him, but on the other hand, a title seems to add a flourish to an image... sort of like framing it for display.

Some people write a poem or a highbrow piece of writing to frame their image. To be honest, I would rather let the image speak for itself.

On the other hand, sharing the circumstances of an image - what I was thinking, feeling or trying to express could be instructive and stimulate discussion... so I'll try that too.

Anyhow, here's my photo for today - I dropped my son off at Meadowhall (a large shopping 'Mall' horrible word, horrible concept ) this lunchtime... and had my Hexanon 40mm f1.8 mounted to the E-P2. Amazingly sharp performance for a 30+ year old pancake lens! What a bargain.

I came across these super manikins in a fashion shop window... cropped to square in Lightzone and did my best to enhance the levels and colours.

The EVF makes focusing this lens a dream, and being able to add IBIS tuned to 40mm is a dream come true.

Cheers

Brian, Very good and unusual and a complete contrast with your outdoor shots
For me, don't go over the top with image manipulation and computer enhancements which IMHO, would spoil your "nature" shots.........it's photography not computer wizardry that counts..........that's my preference anyway

I'm on and off on titles - in general I think a title is good if it is written in a light scrip that is very secondary to the image - it should be there for people to find but not "in your face"

    Cheers

    Another GREAT shot Brian.

Titles - I know many images seem to get titles, but personally I think that if an image NEEDS a title, then it is lacking something. Of course, there are many brilliant images with titles, and a wonderful image may gain from a title, but it is the image which should really convey the message.

Bill, don't worry - I'm not turning to the 'dark side' here's the original, untouched out of camera jpeg... iEnhance mode, +2 contrast, +2 saturation, Gradation Low...

So you can see what I did in Lightzone above.

    Cheers
