    Maybe the frame needs to be a little bit lower down (from the thumbnail)?

    The bigger version does the photo justice though. It looks tact sharp and the swirling bokeh shows up nicely. The book shelf is nice too.

    I'm not at all sure this long thin crop works for me ... my eyes are drawn alternately to those dark margins and the nice soft gleams from the hanging spoons ... the subject gets lost, which is a shame because I think there's a really excellent portrait in here
