Day 73 - Traquair House

Posted September 30th, 2010 at 04:39 PM by Briar

Didn't take any interesting pictures today (too busy playing with my new Kindle to be honest).

Rather than miss another PAD entry though, I'm posting one from Monday's adventure. My hubby and I had travelled to Innerleithen in the Scottish Borders to visit Traquair House. Didn't realise that photography wasn't allowed in the house until after we had paid our entry fee - I kind of lost interest when I saw the no-photography signs - no fun unless I can take a picture IMHO. ...

30th September 2010, n=70 (45)

Posted September 30th, 2010 at 02:34 PM by pdh (he does what he can)

Only took 5 photographs today ... I was already late leaving for work this morning when I thought to try and get the evening primrose in the morning light for a change ... so I took this in a rush, precariously balanced on the soggy grass with my bags strewn around me ... which is why it's imperfectly composed ... also (I just don't seem to have luck with kit) the lens itself has broken tonight -- the focusing ring just slips uselessly round without actuating the mechanism ... Bah! Humbug! ... so...

.. about what i am doing nowadays, here is some information.
i did not discard the E-P1, but it is rarely used - in favour of a used leica M4-P that i recently found in a local online shop.

of course, the film processing is a little bit more time consuming, and taking into account my personal laziness, it should not come as a surprize that i only now updated my private homepage with some content.

here it is:

Day 72 - Looking out for the Postman

Posted September 29th, 2010 at 06:46 PM by Briar

It was raining outside and I was stuck indoors waiting for my new Kindle to arrive from Amazon so not many photo opportunities today for PAD. So it's Doctor Who toys standing by the window captured with my e-pl1 and 20mm Lumix lens. Converted to black and white, and cropped in Photoshop Elements. Toys obviously captured after their morning dose of Ready Brek!!

I know - a little strange but thanks for looking. Comments and criticisms most welcome.

This is the first photograph I took today (through a window) ... well, it's a crop as you can imagine, but what you see is what I saw, and all the extraneous stuff is gone ... a tiny bit of extra saturation is all that's been done on top ...

E-P2, Konica Hexanon 50mm f/1.7, 1/1600s, probably f/2.8, ISO200

Plus I cannot resist another go at the evening primrose, a different sort of shot again,...

Day 71 - After the Rain

Posted September 28th, 2010 at 04:32 PM by Briar

Rain drops caught in a web taken with my e-p2 and my lovely little 17mm oly lens, converted to black and white in photoshop elements and cropped a bit.

Thanks for looking. Comments and criticisms welcome as always.

Cheers, Briar

i think autumn might be here ... it was thick grey blanket of dangerous wetness this morning, though by lunchtime it was gorgeously blue again, come evening dense and soggy once more ... so I went for a wander and found an evening primrose moving a little in the air ... sharp where it's sharp, in some ways I wish i'd not had it so wide open and got some definition into the background ...
